Wolves Women - Positive News!
We welcome the club’s announcement that Dan McNamara has signed a new contract to remain as the Wolves Women’s team manager.
The work that Macca has undertaken since January 2018 has been phenomenal; he has given the fans many special moments over that time. This includes: putting 8 (eight) goals past those down the road; hosting some of the biggest teams in the game during the FA campaigns (including last season’s holders - Man Utd); and winning the County Cup twice (the second time under the lights at Molineux).
Backing the Women’s team is important if the club is to continue demonstrating a #OnePack ethos.
We believe that the club has learnt from the issues over the last six months, and recognise that it needs to learn from these experiences to move forward. If Macca is given the support, we are sure he can deliver.
The club’s establishment of the Women’s Board will give the Wolves Women clear representation within the senior management team, including Jeff Shi. Fan consultation is a key element for rebuilding trust, and we believe this should include representation within the Fan Advisory Board.
We will now be extending an invitation to Matt Jackson to meet with Wolves 1877 Trust to discuss his role in supporting the Women’s team. Until then, we look forward to the development of the squad over the summer, the upcoming pre-season friendlies, and the start of the season in mid-August.
