Wolves 1877 Trust – actions not words

Based on the meetings held 21 January 2026 and 29 January 2026, (The Supporters’ Trust and Wolves Fan Groups) the Trust has put together the key points from both meetings; alongside the evidence we will be seeking to determine whether or not the club’s actions meet the commitments made.

The Trust will continue to actively participate in all levels of supporter consultation, we will ensure that focus remains on the key commitments made.

1.   Governance & Leadership

Commitment: Clear leadership and accountability

  • What the club said: Nathan Shi has full responsibility for football operations, he reports directly to Fosun Chairman Guo Guangchang and takes accountability for all decisions. Jeff Shi has no role in football operations.

  • How this will be measured:

o   Evidence of clear decision-making responsibility

o   No involvement of Jeff Shi in football matters

  • Status: Awaiting evidence of delivery

2.   Club Strategy & Vision

Commitment: Produce a clear long-term vision and strategy

  • What the club said: A full strategic and vision document is being developed by Nathan Shi for Fosun leadership; expected by the end of this season or early next season.

  • How this will be measured:

    • Publication or clear communication of the new strategy

    • Alignment between strategy, recruitment, and football decisions

  • Status: In progress

3.   Premier League Status & Relegation Planning

Commitment: Maintain Premier League status or secure immediate return

  • What the club said:

    • 18-month plan focused on remaining/returning to the Premier League

    • If relegated, the aim is a maximum of one season in the Championship, with required investment to achieve promotion

  • How this will be measured:

    • Squad strength and recruitment decisions

    • Level of investment if relegation occurs

  • Status: To be tested, Summer 2026.

We have also not forgotten Jeff Shi's commitment to zero job losses for staff working at the club:

"We don't have any need to lose our staff," Jeff Shi said in his BBC interview. "We have a clear financial forecast for the next three years, and we never count losing staff as a kind of factor impacting the modelling.

4.   Football Operations & Recruitment

Commitment: Improve football decision-making and squad planning

  • What the club said:

    • Past recruitment and management mistakes acknowledged

    • January transfer strategy focused on protecting long-term club value

    • Club claims to be active behind the scenes

  • How this will be measured:

    • Summer recruitment quality and balance

    • Squad competitiveness and stability

  • Status: Awaiting outcomes

5.   Culture & Internal Change

Commitment: Reset club culture and improve internal communication

  • What the club said:

    • Move away from a culture of “covering for each other”

    • Greater honesty and accountability

    • Nathan Shi has met with every department to clarify expectations

  • How this will be measured:

    • Consistency of messaging

    • On-pitch confidence and cohesion

  • Status: Early signs noted, not yet proven

6.   Fan Engagement

Commitment: Improve supporter dialogue and consultation

  • What the club said:

    • A fan forum for up to 200 supporters will be held

    • A separate meeting focused solely on fan engagement will be arranged

    • Club accepted consultation has previously come too late

  • How this will be measured:

    • Delivery of the fan forum

    • Delivery of Fan Engagement review

    • Earlier and more meaningful supporter involvement in decisions

  • Status: Awaiting delivery

7.   Ticket Pricing

Commitment: Review ticket pricing with better supporter input

  • What the club said:

    • Ticket pricing for next season has not yet been decided

    • Pricing will be reviewed internally after consultation with the Fan Advisory Board

    • Acknowledgement that supporter consultation must happen earlier

  • How this will be measured:

    • Timing and quality of consultation

    • Whether pricing reflects league status and performance

  • Status: Not yet addressed

8.   Infrastructure & Facilities (Compton and Molineux)

Commitment: Protect academy status and review stadium development

  • What the club said:

    • Investment will be made at Compton to maintain Class 1 Academy status

    • Discussions will begin on refurbishment or redevelopment of Molineux, particularly the Steve Bull Stand

    • Supporter involvement via a potential working group was acknowledged

  • How this will be measured:

    • Academy status retained

    • Progress updates on stadium plans

    • Supporter inclusion in discussions

  • Status: Early commitment stage

9.   Wolves Women

Commitment: Continued development regardless of men’s league status

  • What the club said:

    • Men’s team relegation would not impact Wolves Women

    • Structural and financial support will continue

    • A dedicated advisory board is already in place

  • How this will be measured:

    • Continued investment

    • Support for promotion and infrastructure needs

  • Status: Ongoing

10.                Esports

Commitment: Clarify long-term esports strategy

  • What the club said:

    • Esports is a separate entity

    • Desire for a clearer long-term vision

    • No Wolves funds were used for the Chongqing esports stadium

  • How this will be measured:

    • Publication or communication of esports strategy

  • Status: Pending, although this sits outside of football club operations.

Summary

Supporter groups welcomed the openness shown in both meetings but were clear that dialogue alone is not enough, actions and open ongoing dialogue are the minimum required to avoid further protests.
