Wolves 1877 Trust calls for significant ticket price reductions for 2026/27 season
The club released a summary of this month’s Fan Advisory Board meeting this week.
At the meeting, the Trust used data it collected from its member survey to strongly make the case for significant ticket price reductions next season. The Trust’s board believes it’s the right thing to do, with ticket pricing being the first real test of the club’s intentions under new executive chairman, Nathan Shi.
It’s our view that the discussions at the FAB meeting were positive and that club representatives recognised the strength of feeling amongst the fan base, ticket pricing is now a key test for the club to deliver a meaningful message to supporters.
Trust chair, Keith Bickley, said that tickets prices were already preventing fans from attending games.
“We know from previous surveys that many fans have been priced out by relentless increases in ticket prices – which were only stemmed by a successful fan campaign. There are people who have attended games for decades but can’t and yet there are hundreds and sometimes thousands of empty seats at Wolves games this season.
“We’ve seen some acknowledgement in the last week that the club is doing more around the cost of supporting Wolves. It announced £20 tickets for the FA Cup game and free travel for fans attending Wolves Women’s game against Burnley. These are things the Trust applauds. But the true test of whether the club understands the pressure on fans will be the price of attending Wolves week in, week out next season.
“It’s unrealistic to expect the club to announce ticket prices before we know for certain what division we’ll be playing in. But should relegation be confirmed, the Trust expects Wolves to do the right thing and significantly reduce the cost of supporting our team. Our members are angry at the way the way the club has been mis-managed and this is a chance for Fosun to show that they understand the need to re-build bridges with the fanbase and prepare for what will be a challenging season.”
The Trust will continue to have a constructive dialogue with the club on ticket pricing ahead of any announcement.
